We use a ratio of two students per one unit (2:1) during practical instruction.  This allows the students the opportunity to observe as well as operate the equipment.

All course costs include Class 1 material, Air Brake material, Log book training, and the scheduling of the road tests at SGI.  18-Wheels will cover the cost of receipt purchases for the road test.  A second road test will be booked, if necessary – this would happen in one to two business days.  18-Wheels also holds recognized authority – we test 80% of each 2 and 4 Week Class.  The remaining 20% would be tested by SGI Driver Examinations.  All 1 Week students are tested at SGI Driver Examinations.

Before we roll, you must have:

1. Proof of age (18 years min.)

2. A valid class 5 license (no novice restriction)

3. Class 1A medical

4. Class 1A written (with endorsement on license)

5. Proof of written air exam

6. Recent copy of driver abstract

*This course was designed for those who have had little or no experience with standard transmissions, diesel engines, or ‘towing’ any kind of trailer.
